Self Storage

  1. “We are brave little wordmeisters because our readers can’t look into our eyes. We weave our past, present and future with words and wonder if we are like the proverbial tree in the woods: does it make a sound if no one is there to hear? But we write, regardless, storing our bits and pieces like squirrels for some later date when our souls hunger.”

This strikes a chord. I like it very much. Thank you.

    1. Thank you, Leanne. The photos on your blog are gorgeous. I am particularly enamored of your header shot–so evocative!

    2. I liked it too. I’m sure I won’t have been the only one to think how strange it is that we are brave because ‘our readers can’t look into our eyes’… when they can look into our souls.

      1. It is an odd conundrum, isn’t it? Yet, here we all are writing, reading, connecting, supporting. Pretty amazing.

  2. Nice to know about your life Linda. That picture is so beautiful, must be good times with friends. 🙂

    Have a great weekend.
I will also love to know what your tagline means, if that’s fine with you.

    Sincerely,

    Anand 🙂

    1. When I started this blog in 2008, I was in a state of flux and fearful of diving back into my (neglected) creativity–and certainly of exposing it all in such a public forum. My About page (Impetus) explains it all. Have a lovely and restful weekend, Anand.

      1. Thanks for sharing your views.
I hope you will keep enjoying blogging, writing and life.

        Sincerely,
        Anand 🙂

    1. Thank you, Annie. As to the new theme: at first, I was just completing my Day 5 blogging experiment, but I think it’s growing on me even though I have to go back through old posts and add imagery so the homepage carousel looks better.

  3. I actually love the new theme so much I’m trying it out on my own site, which I really hope is not too stalker-ish. Because, if I’m totally honest, I am developing quite a little crush on your writing. I find myself wishing with every post I read to someday grow up to write like you. Too much? I’m not a stalker, I promise. Or, at least, I’ve never been a stalker….

    1. Tia, you just made my day (week)! I fully understand crushing on someone’s writing, but I am over the moon that I’ve instilled that in someone else. PLEASE try out the theme–that’s what this craziness is all about, right? Caution: my old posts don’t have images and just come up with blue boxes on the homepage carousel. So, NOW I feel as if I have to do even more work and go back and add visuals–because keeping up with my workload and my current blogging/writing assignments just isn’t enough! But I think I like it too. Thank you!!!!

    2. Tia, I just checked out your blog–I am just below B.C. in the Idaho panhandle. Shamefully, I’ve never crossed the border. Love the photo, but where are your words, m’dear? Be brave: just dive in and write!

      1. You know, that blog isn’t even active and I didn’t realize that people were being directed to that site instead of the site I am actually working my butt off to provide content for! Now I know I will see how to change it. The blog I’m currently writing on is Letters from the Inside http://tianewransky.wordpress.com/.

  4. Linda, you always have something to say and your words show the incredible depth of your thoughts. You always inspire me and impress me with your wisdom. If anyone reads this years from now, they should know you helped me through divorce, as much as my therapist did, through building an astounding PTA castle from cardboard for a Halloween party that knocked the socks off everyone, and through creating my own blog, which has been an unexpected source of joy and learning. Keep writing so they can know you, every interesting bit of you.

    1. I am such a proud mama bird, knowing that I pushed you out of YOUR nest of words and into the blue. Look how you’ve flown! Truly, our friendship was sealed over that blasted cardboard castle and your insistence that it have angular turrets. I recognized a fellow obsessive, immediately. I’m trying to be braver, creatively–thank you, always, for your support. I love you so much.

  5. “We bloggers come here to hatch big dreams and whisper them into the ether.” Love how you write and thanks for sharing your memories with us!

Loved the way your daughter checked in on the swearing part and the B&W photo. My Mum is 67 this year and sometimes misses her schoolmates, no clue where they are now. Social media, when used wisely, is a good tool!

Have a great week ahead 🙂
